Intro to Radical HR

A workshop for those starting to think critically about what care-based, liberatory and anti-oppressive internal policy making might look like.

A workshop that can be delivered for an individual organisation, or for individuals from a range of organisations, to highlight the problems embedded in traditional HR work, open new conversations about what alternatives can look like and explore some examples of more ‘radical’ internal policies.

PURPOSE: To encourage critical thinking around internal policy making and to offer some potential pathways to incorporating care-based, anti-oppressive thinking into their own internal policy and process work.

AUDIENCE: A group of people who are newer to thinking about HR and internal policies from a critical and anti-oppressive lens. This could be:

  1. A full staff team of an individual smaller organisation who are just forming or who are rethinking their existing approaches to internal policies work, or
  2. A group of organisations brought together by a funder or other membership body, to think individually about how they might introduce new ideas into their group’s existing policy-making processes.

TIME: Versions of this workshop can run between 90mins and a full day. Longer sessions would need to be delivered in-person, while shorter ones would likely be online (unless requiring minimal facilitator travel time).

DELIVERY: These sessions are facilitated by one or two RadHR facilitators, online or in person, based on staff availability, criteria for accepting workshop requests, and agreement of appropriate sliding scale costs (to be discussed).
